Planning Out A Gay Wedding

Don’t worry about the traditional.

gay wedding photographerWe get it. Weddings have always been rife with traditions and rituals. It has been like that for centuries and it is something that can seem a bit hard to take a break away from but what you can be rest assured of though is that you are living in the 21st century. It isn’t unheard of for a bride and groom to try to do away with tradition and to make their own when it all comes down to it. You can go ahead and do the same and people won’t judge you for it or anything like that. You can be as different and as unique as you would like to be. At the end of the day, keep in mind of the fact that this is your wedding and that there is little left for you to worry about when it comes to what other people have to say or what their opinions are so far. Only several decades ago, gay weddings weren’t even a thing yet and you are living the dream and are fortunate that it is something possible to do today. Consult with your gay wedding photographer about how a same sex wedding usually goes and try to see if you can learn anything off of that. If not, you can always come up with your own and your friends and family who love and support you and your partner will be with you all the way regardless.

Get creative with the wedding party lineup.

You don’t have to stick to the people in your family tree. You should bring in people who you want to be there in the first place. Think about the people who would most likely support you the most, be willing to run errands for you, hold your skirts together as you get into the dress, and so on and so forth. These are the best people to include in your wedding party lineup. Remember the fact that a successful bride did not go about the wedding prep work on her own. She mostly has an awesome entourage to boot and that is just the type of thing that you should be setting your sights on to one way or the other. be open to what the possibilities are and more than that, make it a point to get their buy in on the matter. Gauge what their level of commitment is. A maid of honor doesn’t have to be female and vice versa. Remember the fact that tradition can fly out of the window and that you shouldn’t be bound by them or anything like that. Your gay wedding photographer will have a better time shooting photos of people who mesh well together.

Go ahead and pursue pre wedding parties.

It doesn’t matter if you can’t call it a bachelorette party or a stag party. It can be a party, nonetheless so make it a point not to deprive yourself of these pre wedding celebrations so that you can cap it off and say goodbye to your singlehood in style and with merriments from friends and family. Try to bring your gay wedding photographer along if you can because the photos will be well worth looking into as well.

Be aware of unfriendly vendors.

You don’t want them nor do you need them. There are a lot of other professionals working the wedding industry scene who are open and who will more than embrace the fact that they will be servicing a same sex wedding so save yourself the trouble and the hassle of getting upset over it.
